As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
I have always been surrounded by theatre, with three older sisters who danced and parents who were really supportive and encouraging of a career in theatre. Working in musicals as a child had a great influence on my future and helped cement a career as an adult in the industry.

Ross performed in the role of Boq both performances yesterday before Stuart Fisher debuts in the role tonight.

According to my not-too-accurate calculations, those shows would have been his 18th and 19th time as Boq.

As for #20, I expect with a new Boq in the main cast - the fourth distinct cast in the show's 7-month run - it'll be a while before we see Ross or James Smith in the role again.

Ross Hannaford has a new website.

Mostly composed of photos, music and info from his Myspace page, the layout is much cleaner - very minimalist - with Ross in his keyboard t-shirt as the main feature linking each page.

There are also three new songs on his Songs/Clips page: Never Say, My Angel and Spin in Love.

He also has a page at ReverbNation.

telekinetickiss  found a few photos of Ross as Tiny Tim - in his professional stage debut in Scrooge, which is a musical version of A Christmas Carol. So I post these in honour of Ross' debut and the Christmas Season.

That's his sister, Esther, on the right of the last photo!

Ross Hannaford as Boq. And Jemma Stevenson as Elphaba.

Anthony Callea has a show at Crown tonight, so expect Ross or James tonight as well.

...is Stuart Fisher.

I'm kind of surprised. Not that I was certain Ross Hannaford would get it, but because I honestly thought the producers would go for a stunt cast before they would go for a newcomer.

I'd be interested to know if Ross didn't put his hand up for the permanent part - although that possibility doesn't make much sense. Are the ensemble destined to remain there forever without any chance of promotion?

Anyway, it will be interesting to see what Stuart Fisher will bring to the role. Congratulations to him!

I saw Ross as Boq for the second time tonight. He was wonderful, as usual. I noticed he was still in No One Mourns the Wicked at the start, although not in the same track. In fact, I noticed Millsy approach the front of the stage where Ross often is in the ensemble. But Ross was up the top of the ladder, while someone else was in his track. Does Anthony Callea usually appear in the opening number? I've only ever noticed him appear at the start of Dear Old Shiz.

His performance as Boq was a good as I remembered it from the first time, plus playing opposite Christina Tan as Nessa gave a different energy to the Nessa/Boq scenes. In fact, out of Penny/Anthony, Penny/Ross and Christina/Ross - I think tonight's pair is my favourite Nessa/Boq. Something about their two angles on those characters made them feel richer. Or perhaps they just felt fresher? Either way, it was fun to see them together in main roles - rather than merely dancing together in Dancing Through Life in their usual tracks.

Ross will be playing Boq from today's matinee through until at least Saturday's matinee performance of Wicked.

Further updates when I receive them.

*fingers crossed for Ross to get a promotion*

Reminder: Callea is also out for some of November (next two weeks?) and December 6th, so expect Ross will playing Boq for most of those performances.
